113. Francis Marion SUTTON was born on 23 Apr 1858 in Pocahontas, Randolph Co, AR.⁽³⁸⁾ He died on 6 Feb 1931 in Pocahontas, Randolph Co, AR.⁽³⁸⁾⁽⁴⁰⁾ Marion's obituary appeared in the Feb. 12, 1931 Pocahontas Star Herald.

Uncle Marion Sutton, pioneer citizen of Randolph county, died last Friday, Feb. 6, at th home of his son, Vass Sutton, near town, following an illness of about eight days with pneumonia. All his children were present at his passing.

Uncle Marion was known as a constructive citizen, having devoted much of his time during his long and useful life to community and church work.

He was married to Martha Ann BATES (daughter of Williston BATES and Nancy Tennessee NOBLIN) on 25 May 1879 in Pocahontas, Randolph Co, AR. Martha Ann BATES was born on 7 Nov 1862 in Pocahontas, Randolph, Arkansas. She was born on 7 Nov 1862 in Pocahontas, Randolph Co, AR. She died on 12 Jun 1918 in Pocahontas, Randolph Co, AR.⁽⁴⁰⁾ She died on 18 Jul 1918 in Pocahontas, Randolph, Arkansas. Ann's daughter, Nancy Ann Million, died 1 Feb 1901, just four days after giving birth to her daughter, Nancy Ethel. Ann was nursing her own daughter, Essie, at the same time. After Nancy died, Ann took Ethel in and nursed her granddaugher at the same time that she was nursing her daughter, Essie.

The 1910 Randolph County Census lists in the household of Marion and Ann Sutton six of their own chidren, including Essie, age 9, and Ethel Million, granddaughter, age 9. Francis Marion SUTTON and Martha Ann BATES had the following children:

JAMES OSBY SUTTON - James Osby Sutton was born June 3, 1891, near
Pocahontas, in the Hubble Creek community. He died at the age of 57
in the Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, Thursday. He was
united in holy matrimony with Nettie May Lemmons, February 22, 1912.
To this union were born eight children; five boys and three girls. He
was a member of the Church of Christ, having been baptised in 1922 at
the age of 31. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. May Sutton; three
daughters, Mrs. Imogene Kirkpatrick of Malden, Mrs. Jewell Walpole of
Kennett, and Sue of the home; five sons, Sgt. Peck Sutton of Chanute
Field, Ill., Harry, Cloyce and Wayland of St. Louis, and Lavelle of
the home, and 11 grandchildren. Also 2 sisters, Mrs. Emma Campbell of
Beach Grove, and Mrs. Essie Dixon of Pocahontas; 3 brothers, Ed Sutton
of St. Louis, Ham and Vass Sutton of Pocahontas, and a host of other
relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., May 29,
at the Sutton Church with interment in the Sutton Cemetery with McNabb
Funeral Home in charge. Cecil Wilson officiated.

Ham is buried at Sutton Cemetery, Pocahontas, AR.
